Information from the August 13, 2026 6:45 p.m. all-call:

Good evening! We are so excited to kick off a new school year with all of you! The phone number used to place this call to you will be the one that we will be using during the school year to notify you with important information. If you are receiving this call by mistake, please contact Mrs. Andie Stark, Administrative Assistant, at 937-981-2152 during regular office hours or by email at andie.stark@greenfieldmcclain.org.

We have a number of important items to share with you this evening.

1. Please update your information in FinalForms if you haven’t done so already. It is important that we have current information for you and your child. If you are reading this on social media and did not receive a call and email this evening, it could be because your contact information is not up-to-date.

2. Elementary and middle school class lists will be posted on the building doors tomorrow, August 14, at 3:00 p.m.

3. Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 18. The schedule is as follows:
Buckskin Elementary, Greenfield Elementary, Rainsboro Elementary - 5:00-6:00
Greenfield Middle School - 5:30-6:30
McClain High School - 6:00-7:00 - Freshmen and their parents/guardians will begin in the New Gym @ 6:00. Students in grades 10-12 can pick up their schedules in the Old Gym that evening. Due to an evening soccer match, parents/guardians and student-athletes who play soccer can visit the high school @ 1:00 that afternoon to pick up schedules, locate classrooms, and ask questions.

4. The first day for students in grades 1-12 is Thursday, August 20. Kindergarten breakthrough days are August 20, 21, and 24, followed by half of the students coming on August 25, the other half coming on August 26, and then finally all kindergarten students attending on August 27. Preschool breakthrough days are August 20, 21, 24, and 25, with all preschool students attending on August 27. Preschool and kindergarten teachers and office staff will communicate more detailed information to families.

5. For those whose children ride a bus - You will soon be receiving your child’s pick-up and drop-off times. Please remember that during the beginning of the school year, it is important to be ready ten minutes in advance of the pick-up time and expect that there could be delays in the afternoon while adjustments are made. We appreciate your patience.

6. Students will once again receive FREE breakfast and lunch this school year. We are so excited to be able to offer this opportunity to families.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help!

Enjoy the final days of summer break. We’ll see you soon!

Welcome

The start of the school year is just around the corner! Last year, we asked all parents and guardians to ensure that transportation information is updated in advance of the school year beginning, and with your help, things started very smoothly for our drivers! We appreciate your assistance with doing the same thing this year. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.☺️

We are excited to welcome Wendy Coonrod to our team! Wendy is working as a paraprofessional at McClain High School.

➡️ Wendy is a 2003 graduate of McClain High School and Laurel Oaks.
➡️ An interesting fact about Wendy is that she has bowled in leagues since 2003. She has even bowled with professional bowlers! She loves watching softball, spending time with family, and going to concerts with her best friend.
➡️ Wendy is looking forward to helping the students and teachers and being part of an amazing school. Once a tiger, always a tiger!

Welcome, Wendy!💜💛

Information from the 2-6-26 9:45 a.m. all-call:

At this time, it would not be safe to put buses or student drivers out on the roads so we will be maintaining a regular schedule. The only change that we are making at this point is the cancellation of afternoon preschool. In addition, we will not be transporting morning preschoolers home at the regular time. We would prefer that morning preschool parents pick their children up, but if that is not possible, they will not be transported home until the end of the elementary school day. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate your cooperation!

Due to the continued weather and road conditions, the Greenfield Exempted Village School District will be closed Friday, January 30, 2026. We miss our students and can’t wait to see them on Monday!

Today, we have a special shoutout for the members of our maintenance, custodial, and transportation teams who are working to make sure that when students and staff return, everything is ready to go. We appreciate their hard work!

Due to the continued weather and road conditions, the Greenfield Exempted Village School District will be closed Thursday, January 29, 2026. As shared previously, rescheduling of extracurricular events will occur as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience. Some might ask - Why not just cancel school on Friday? We carefully monitor the instructional hours that our students complete compared to what is required by the state, and we want to ensure that we don’t have to make up hours unless necessary. Different grade bands require a different number of hours, and currently all grades are tracking okay with our seniors being the only group within a few calamity days of needing to make up any hours. Please know that we will always put safety first, but because we are monitoring hours, we will wait to make any call about Friday sometime tomorrow. Have a good evening!
