Students in grades 7-12 and their families are encouraged to attend the Tricks of the Trade Career Expo tomorrow, November 14, from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. The event will be held in the McClain High School cafetorium and courtyard area. This exciting event hosted by our McClain High School FFA Chapter explores a wide variety of careers and allows students to connect with a professional to ask questions and learn about all of the options that are available to them. We hope to see you tomorrow evening for this great opportunity. Have a good evening!

We are excited to welcome Brian Beechler to our team! He will be working part time as a safety officer for our district and will be assisting Sgt. Little if he is away or handling other matters, attending events, and supporting Rainsboro Elementary during the week. Our district takes the safety of students and staff very seriously, and we are fortunate to have our School Resource Officer Sgt. Little, Safety Director Bradley George, and now additional support from Officer Beechler. 😊
➡️ Brian graduated from McClain High School and Ohio University. He worked as a police sergeant in Cincinnati and retired after 25 years of service.
➡️ Some fun facts about Brian are:
1. He won Top Gun four times on the tactical shooting course while working at the Cincinnati Police Department.
2. Brian won the top investigation award for the State of Ohio for a gang investigation in 2012.
3. He served as the Violent Crimes Supervisor for 11 years.
➡️ Brian is excited to get to know students and attend school district events and activities. 😊

Information from the October 30, 2024 all-call:
There will be no school for students on Friday, November 1, 2024 as it is a professional development day for teachers. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 7. You should have received information about how to schedule a conference, but if you have questions, please contact the school office in the building where your child attends. We would love to see all parents and guardians for a conference. The Greenfield Middle School McClain FFA Chapter will be holding a Trunk-or-Treat event tomorrow evening, October 31, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Please do not park in the lot next to the Imagination Kingdom, the lot on the greenhouse side of the vocational building, or the lot on the Lafayette Street side of the vocational building after 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. The event is open to the community and will be held rain or shine. If the event is moved indoors, it will be held in our cafetorium. Registration to participate in this event as a treat provider has closed, so we will not be adding anyone additional at this time. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us during regular school hours. Have a good evening!

➡️ The open house will begin at 5:30 and end at 7:00. The formal ribbon cutting will be held during the 7:00 GEVSD Board meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend.
➡️ This is an open house and NOT a grand opening. You will notice touch-up work and small tasks that need to still be completed. There is also landscaping work that will be completed this week. We wanted to welcome people into the facility BEFORE we move in so that guests can explore the whole building. 😀

Tomorrow, October 17, 2024, we will be having a previously scheduled two-hour early dismissal. There will be no afternoon preschool, and transportation from school to home for morning preschool students will not be provided. Also, as previously scheduled, there will be no school for students on Friday, October 18, 2024. Tomorrow is the last day of the first quarter. Look for report cards to be sent home next week. Finally, parent-teacher conferences will be held on November 6 and 7. Look for information to be sent home in the near future. Have a nice evening!
