Some of Mrs. Shrout’s Math students used critical thinking and math skills today in some friendly competition. One group played a game called X Code, where they had to work together and simultaneously to crack the code on a number field.
Another group played Target, where they had to race each other to find an equation (using the numbers they were dealt, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, and/or parenthesis) to equal the number given to them as a solution.

Our district will be on spring break beginning Thursday, April 17 through Monday, April 21. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 22. We hope that you have an enjoyable break!

Please take a minute to read the April edition of the GMS Paws*itive Press!

The GMS Student Council is sponsoring a Spring Break Countdown Spirit Week next week!

Do you have breakfast plans tomorrow morning? Don't forget, the Leesburg Masonic Lodge will be serving up pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and sausage for donations to the Washington DC trip from 8 am until noon!

Students in Miss Cokonougher's classes are beginning, in Miss Cokonougher's opinion, the best part of the seventh grade social studies content - The Middle Ages. Today, students worked on key vocabulary, map locations, and summarizing key material.

Students in Mrs. Dyer’s seventh grade math class have been working on their probability and statistics standards through a menu choice board. Each student is assigned a “budget” and must spend that amount on their choice of tasks from the menu. Today, students could be seen doing VR lessons, finding the probability of different dragons' offspring, and many other learning opportunities.

Eighth grade students had some fun learning about electric force and static electricity in Mrs. Molloy's science class.

What a year for Greenfield Middle School FFA!
The Greenfield Middle School McClain FFA chapter has had a phenomenal year filled with hard work, leadership, and success! We’re incredibly proud to celebrate over 35 students who placed in the top ten of various contests—and we appreciate all 60+ members who participated in events throughout the year.
From soil and wildlife judging to career presentations and dairy cattle evaluation, our students consistently represented GMS with pride. In every event, the teams and individuals placed top ten in the highest level!
Way to go, Tigers!

Congratulations to Harper White on completing her 6th grade ALEKs pie!

Due to many roadways having debris and some power outages in the area, the Greenfield Exempted Village School District will be on a two hour delay Thursday, April 3, 2025. This delay will allow time for daylight so that drivers can see any safety concerns. There will be no morning preschool, and breakfast will not be served today.

Congratulations to Callan Swan for completing his sixth grade Aleks pie!

Congratulations to Madison Shaffer and Silas Soards on finishing their sixth grade ALEKs pie!

Congratulations to our students who earned honor roll and perfect attendance for the third quarter!

Please put this event to your calendar! The Leesburg Masonic Lodge is hosting a pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 12th from 8:00 am until noon to support this year's Washington DC trip!

Who says sixth graders can’t have story time? In honor of “Read across America,” Mrs. Cobb invited the sixth grade ELA classes to a Dr. Seuss read aloud. Mrs. Cobb shared interesting facts about Dr. Seuss (whose real name is not Dr. Seuss, by the way) and read "Fox in Socks." What a wonderful way to end a Friday!

Congratulations to Ryker Stark for completing his sixth grade Aleks Pie!

The boil advisory issued by the Village of Greenfield on 3-4-25 has not been lifted. It only impacts two of our buildings - Greenfield Middle School and the new vocational building. We encourage you to send bottled water with students. We also will be providing access to water coolers in the hallway areas since the water fountains will be out of use at this time. Thank you!

Eighth grade students in Miss Bolender’s class read a graphic novel excerpt and learned characteristics of the genre, practiced theme, character, plot, and creative thinking. Students then applied their knowledge and created their own comic strip stories!
