REMINDER: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL NEW GEVSD 2024-2025 KINDERGARTEN APPLICANTS: Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open online on Tuesday, April 2, 2024!! We are very excited to announce that the Greenfield Exempted Village School District has again partnered with FinalForms, which allows you to sign and complete all kindergarten enrollment forms for the 2024-2025 school year and upload ALL required documents to your student’s individual document folder. Directions on how to register will be made available on our district website and social media accounts on April 2. You can also contact the school office where your child will attend in order to be added to an email distribution list to receive the directions via email on April 2.
Please remember, that your child must turn five years old prior to August 1, 2024, to be eligible for kindergarten registration. As part of the registration process, Greenfield Exempted Village School District will hold in-person testing events at our three elementary locations. Your child’s participation at your school’s testing event is mandatory.

Greenfield Elementary: Tuesday, April 16 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Buckskin Elementary: Wednesday, April 17 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Rainsboro Elementary: Thursday, April 18 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The deadline to complete the process is May 15, 2024. All forms must be signed and all required documents uploaded by the deadline in order to be considered for the program. You can also contact our Special Programs Department at 937-981-4856 to be added to an email distribution list in order to receive the directions via email on April 2.
*Parents and guardians of current preschoolers who will be in preschool again next year are already on the email distribution list.

Information from the March 14, 2024 6:00 p.m. all-call:
Tomorrow, March 15, we will have a two-hour early dismissal. This is a regularly scheduled early dismissal as tomorrow is the last day of the third quarter. Next week, we will be having parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21. If you are not already scheduled for a conference, you can contact the school office where your child attends for assistance with scheduling. Next Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23, the McClain High School Drama Department will be presenting The Little Mermaid at 7:30 each night. The ticket cost is $5.00. We would love to see a large crowd come out and support our students and staff members who have worked so hard on the production. Mrs. Eikenberry's Prodigy students used teamwork skills for a cup stacking challenge, however, the team leader could only use their voice to help their team.
The students in Mrs. Penwell and Mrs. Raike’s classes were busy writing “Where I’m From” poetry over the past three days. Students reflected on childhood memories that helped identify who they are as a person. They added in sensory details and figurative language to enhance imagery and depth of the poem. After using peer feedback to make any adjustments, every student enjoyed reciting their poem. We enjoyed all of the poems!
Students in Mrs. Molloy's science classes made structures to see if they could withstand a simulated earthquake.

School will not be in session on Monday, February 19, in observance of Presidents’ Day. Also, we notified families this week that school will not be in session on Monday, April 8 due to the solar eclipse. Finally, preschool and kindergarten registration dates have been set for this spring. Kindergarten registration will occur on April 16 at Greenfield Elementary, April 17 at Buckskin Elementary, and April 18 at Rainsboro Elementary. Preschool registration will occur on April 23 at Greenfield Elementary and April 24 at Rainsboro Elementary.
