Good evening! On Friday, March 17, there will be a two-hour early release for students marking the end of the third grading period. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 22 and Thursday, March 23. If you have any questions about scheduling a conference, please contact the office of the school where your child attends. School will not be in session on Friday, March 24. The McClain High School Fine Arts Department will present “High School Musical” on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25, beginning at 7:30PM each evening. Finally, we are excited to share about our upcoming groundbreaking ceremony for our practice field development project. The ceremony will be held on Monday, March 20 beginning at 6:00PM on the practice field, located at 750 McClain Avenue. McClain FFA hosted its first “Tech with Teens” event in partnership with the Highland County Community Action Organization this afternoon. Students were able to sit down in an individualized setting with seniors who had specific questions with the technology they use in their everyday lives. February 27, 2023 - 4:16PM update - The tornado warning has been lifted. The weather has cleared, and our buses are back on the road. Thank you to all for your cooperation!
Important update: Due to the tornado warning for Highland County, our buses are currently stopped in order to maintain safety for our drivers and students. Buses will begin traveling again once the weather is safe to do so. Also, students who attend BASC Care on our main campus are sheltered and safe.

The deadline to complete the process is May 15, 2023. All forms must be signed and all required documents uploaded by the deadline in order to be considered for the program. Directions on how to register will be made available on our district website and social media accounts on April 3. You can also contact our Special Programs Department at 937-981-4856 to be added to an email distribution list in order to receive the directions via email on April 3.
*Parents and guardians of current preschoolers who will be in preschool again next year are already on the email distribution list.
We will hold a mandatory in-person application/informational session for you AND your child on April 18 from 4:00-6:30 PM at Greenfield Elementary and at Rainsboro Elementary on April 20 from 4:00-6:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you at one of these events!!

We are very excited to announce that the Greenfield Exempted Village School District has again partnered with Final Forms, which allows you to sign and complete all kindergarten enrollment forms for the 2023-2024 school year and upload ALL required documents to your student’s individual document folder. Directions on how to register will be made available on our district website and social media accounts on April 3. You can also contact the school office where your child will attend in order to be added to an email distribution list in order to receive the directions via email on April 3.
Please remember, your children must turn five years old prior to August 1, 2023, in order to be eligible for kindergarten registration.
As part of the registration process, Greenfield Exempted Village School District will hold in-person testing events at our three elementary locations. Your child’s participation at your school’s testing event is mandatory.

Did you know that our buses are inspected twice per year (one annual inspection and one spot inspection) by the State Highway Patrol Motor Vehicle Inspection Team? Our transportation team does an excellent job keeping our buses in shape, which keeps our buses on the road after passing inspection. ☺️🚌

Announcements for yearbooks and senior items:
Senior yearbook pictures were to be submitted to mcclain.yearbook@gmail.com by January 31st, but we are currently accepting late submissions. These pictures need to be a vertical head and shoulders pose of a high-quality resolution submitted in digital format. Other people, hats, vehicles, trophies, pets, and other distracting objects are not permitted. If you do not have a photo or would like your photo to be taken by members of the McClain Annual Staff, please contact Mrs. Hutchinson at kassie.hutchinson@greenfieldmcclain.org or in room 304.
Presale orders for the 2022-2023 Yearbook are open from February 1st through February 28th. Students may purchase yearbooks at the marble stairs during academy. Yearbooks are $20 for seniors, $40 for non-seniors, and personalizations are $6. For seniors, only one yearbook will be $20 (all additional yearbooks will be $40). Yearbooks may also be purchased at Jostens.com. All yearbooks at Josten.com will be $40 (seniors do not get a discount online).
Senior parent ads for the yearbook are due on February 15th. Parent ads cost $25. These can be submitted to mcclain.yearbook@gmail.com, mailed in, or turned in to the high school office. These feature one picture and 50 or fewer words of encouragement. Please keep these sentiments short at a maximum of 50 words.

The Greenfield Exempted Village School District will be on a two hour delay Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Please remember that breakfast is not served on days when there is a delay. Also, there will be no morning preschool classes.
