Our district will be on a two-hour delay today, Thursday, December 12, 2024. There will be no morning preschool, and breakfast will not be served.

We would like to invite you to be part of something special. 🎶💜💛🎶 Our district is excited to kick off an auditorium revitalization project. Constructed in 1915, the McClain High School auditorium has been a treasure in our community for over one hundred years, hosting countless performances and events leading to memories that last a lifetime. While its history is rich, time has taken its toll after the renovations made almost 40 years ago. We now have a unique opportunity to restore and enhance this iconic space for future generations. Our revitalization project will focus on upgrading the sound and lighting systems and replacing the seating, carpet, and curtains. These updates will honor the building’s historic charm while ensuring that it continues to meet the needs and support the experiences of current and future performers. We are thrilled for you to join us in bringing this vision of revitalization to life! Your support can make a meaningful impact. If you have questions regarding the information in this post, please contact us. 😊

For the safety of our students, families, and staff members, our district will be on a two hour delay Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Please remember that no breakfast is served on days when there is a delay.

Information from the October 30, 2024 all-call:
There will be no school for students on Friday, November 1, 2024 as it is a professional development day for teachers. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 7. You should have received information about how to schedule a conference, but if you have questions, please contact the school office in the building where your child attends. We would love to see all parents and guardians for a conference. The Greenfield Middle School McClain FFA Chapter will be holding a Trunk-or-Treat event tomorrow evening, October 31, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Please do not park in the lot next to the Imagination Kingdom, the lot on the greenhouse side of the vocational building, or the lot on the Lafayette Street side of the vocational building after 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. The event is open to the community and will be held rain or shine. If the event is moved indoors, it will be held in our cafetorium. Registration to participate in this event as a treat provider has closed, so we will not be adding anyone additional at this time. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us during regular school hours. Have a good evening!

Update: Because of student availability due to other commitments, the high school and middle school band members will not be marching during the September 28 varsity football game.
Information from the September 27, 2024 all-call:
Good afternoon. This is Quincey Gray, Superintendent of Greenfield Schools. First, thank you to our parents and guardians for their cooperation during dismissal today. Also, our bus drivers deserve a huge shoutout for ensuring the students’ safety during this treacherous weather. We do currently have some elementary buses still transporting students.
This evening’s varsity football game has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 28, at 12:00 p.m. All of the additional activities (youth cheer, youth football, middle school band students marching with the high school band) that were scheduled for this evening will occur during the game tomorrow.
A reminder from Cheer Coach, Vanessa Penwell: Those participating in youth cheer can arrive at 11:15 tomorrow morning. Please go to the Greenfield Elementary multipurpose room/gym, entering from the door on the football field/track side.
Have a good evening! Stay safe!

Any additional updates will be shared as they become available. Thank you for your cooperation!

Enjoy something from McDonald's in Greenfield on September 26 AND support the McClain High School Athletic Department at the
same time! 😀
See below for details. ⬇️

Happening tomorrow! 😀
Please note that it is open to the community. Improved student attendance is a COMMUNITY concern as regular attendance can correlate with later outcomes such as high school graduation and work performance. It takes missing JUST 2 DAYS A MONTH to be chronically absent. 😳
We hope to see you tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in the MHS cafetorium! 💜💛

Information from the September 19, 2024 All-Call:
Good afternoon. Yesterday, a letter was sent to all parents and guardians via FinalForms sharing about an ongoing situation involving a hoax threat. I want to share that information in this phone call in case anyone did not receive the email. It is very important to make sure that your email address is up-to-date in FinalForms so that you can receive information.
The letter reads as follows:
Earlier in the week I notified you that our school district has not received any official threats, which is currently still the case. Unfortunately, a screenshot from Snapchat has been shared countless times over the last couple of days across our area, and it is causing our students and family members to be concerned. Please know that the “Snap” that is being shared did not originate in our school district. Not only that, but it does not mention our district and includes information that is NOT specific to our school district. If you are unfamiliar with how Snapchat works, I would encourage you to learn about it, especially if it is something that you are allowing your child to use. Just like other social media tools, users can share information quickly with many people without being sure of the validity of the information. Again though, with recent tragic events these hoax threats can put people on edge, which is certainly understandable.
If your child sees something on social media that is threatening or makes them feel uneasy, they should share that information with a parent/guardian, a school personnel member, or law enforcement. Continuing to share a hoax threat on social media is only heightening panic, especially among our students. Our middle school and high school administrators have been working diligently over the past few days to talk to students about the situation, assuring them that in the case of a threat, we will take all necessary steps to ensure that our students and staff members are safe.
As I mentioned previously, this is a good time to talk with your child about:
1. Be sure to report anything that seems odd or threatening.
2. DO NOT create or become involved in a hoax threat as it is a very serious crime.
Our goal is to keep everyone safe, and communication is essential. If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
A few other things:
1. Tomorrow, September 20, is the end of the interim period for the first nine weeks.
2. On Monday, September 23, we will be hosting a district report card informational session for anyone in the community. The session will be held in the McClain High School cafetorium beginning at 6:00 p.m. Check out our app, website, or social media accounts for additional details.
3. Thank you to everyone who participated in or watched the Snake Dance yesterday! It was a great evening of Tiger pride.
4. The Homecoming game is tomorrow night with festivities beginning at approximately 6:30 p.m. We hope to have a great crowd come out to support our students and those alumni who are participating in the halftime show.
Have a good evening!

We are less than a week away from our report card informational session. See below for the details. Please note that it is open to the community. Improved student attendance is a COMMUNITY concern as regular attendance can correlate with later outcomes such as high school graduation and work performance. It takes missing JUST 2 DAYS A MONTH to be chronically absent.
We hope to see you on September 23!
